In response to the question: "What do you believe to be the greatest benefit/result of your participation in this MBSR program?" We received the following replies:
• "Sustaining focus. The practice allows for sustaining focus and enhanced my capacity to make distinctions between relevant experiences and nonsensical thoughts."
• "Yes, knowing that I can be happy and fulfilled right here, right now, regardless of events."
• "My daily meditation became rock solid."
• “'The mind generates the best commercials,' and the cool thing is, I don’t have to believe any of it."
• "I've learned I can have freedom from my emotions and fears. My mind or ego no longer has total control over who I am."
• "I have calmed down a lot, and I feel more peaceful. I have more patience with others."
• "Well, I started with a very high level of angst and anxiety, which really did gradually melt away. I am amazed at how often I experience pure joy over even the simple things of life. I told everyone that I still have the same job and the same family, but everything has changed for the better."
