Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

A Home Study Course by John Steven Shealy, PhD

This package includes 4 CDs that I recorded and used in my regular 8-week MBSR programs. (Learn more about MBSR). Each CD is about 45 minutes long. They include:

Body Scan

Mindful Hatha Yoga I

Guided Sitting Meditation

Mindful Hatha Yoga II

This program also includes 8 homework material packets which total 66 pages of readings, exercises and suggestions for deepening your mindfulness practice and making the most of this experience. I have also added 98 pages of supplemental articles related to the impact of MBSR in the areas of: intimate relationships, pain management, healthy eating, psychotherapy and prison work.

While not the same as a typical 8 week interactive group MBSR experience, this program provides a reasonable alternative for anyone unable to attend a more traditional MBSR program who wants to experience the benefits of this research-based, integrated stress and lifestyle management program.

Cost: A donation of between $50.00 to $250.00 is suggested. If your financial situation prevents you from making even a $50 donation, please donate whatever amount you feel you can afford. In the past, I have found that those in a more comfortable financial position will donate more so it all balances out in the end. What is most important is that you get the help you are seeking from this powerful program.

To make your donation, clink the PayPal link below and follow the instructions.

Within a few seconds of submitting your payment information, a confirmation page from PayPal will come up on your screen. This page confirms that your donation to Flowing Dharma has been received. You can now Click Here to access a pdf file that will walk you through downloading the four training CDs and reading/study materials onto your computer.

All procedes from this home study course go directly and in full (no administration or handling costs are deducted) to support Flowing Dharma, Inc. a 501.c.3, tax-exempt, non-profit organization devoted to sharing the power of meditation, Buddhist teachings and the Dharma through a variety of service, support and outreach activities in the local community as well as in the developing countries where two of our key board members (John and Jordan) live and volunteer. As an alternative to this home study course, you may want consider the "MBSR cyberspace experience" offered by Mindful Living Program. Although, considerably more costly, it's a on-line, interactive course that meets via computer link-up so you may get some of the benefits of attending a live group. I have not experienced this course but I know and respect those who offer it. If you try their program, please share your experiences with me. Drop me a note at John@Bemindful.org Thank you!
